Programming phone numbers into your medical alarm

The good news is that our team will program your Medi Alarm with all of the numbers you want the device to call, before we send it out to you.

You can give our friendly team a call, and we will record all of your emergency contact numbers. Those numbers will be programmed into your device before we send it to you.

If you’re not sure which numbers you would like programmed into the device when you purchase it, then you can program the device yourself when you receive it.  6 simple steps to program numbers into your Medi Alarm

  1. Make sure that your medical alarm is turned on
  2. Your Medi Alarm will come with a phone number that you can send text messages to
  3. To add your first number to the elderly emergency alarm text, “A1,XXXXXXXXXX,NAME”. For example, A1, 0412345678, JaneSmith”
  4. You should receive a text message in reply, “1TEL OK! 0412345678”, to confirm you have added a contact
  5. You can add up to 8 contacts this way using the code A1 - A8’
  6. Remember that the alarm will call each number in the order that you enter them. For example, then it will call A1 first, and then it will A2, and so on.

Making calls from your Medi Alarm

We understand that emergency situations can be very stressful for you and your family. That’s why it’s so important that an elderly emergency alarm is as simple as possible.

That’s why we’ve made sure that using the Medi Alarm in an emergency is very easy.

If you find yourself in danger, or you need urgent medical help, all you need to do is press the big yellow button on the front of the device.

Your elderly emergency alarm will beep once if you press the button. This will alert you to the fact that the alarm has been triggered, and it is about to start calling your emergency contacts.

If the Medi Alarm registers a fall, it will beep 10 ten times before it starts to call your contacts. This will alert you to the fact that a fall has been detected.

Regardless of how the device is triggered, you will have 10 seconds to cancel the alarm.

Cancelling emergency calls after the alarm has been triggered

If you accidentally press the medical alarm or trigger a fall, you can cancel the alarm by holding in the yellow button on the front of the Medi Alarm.

If you cancel the emergency alarm, a text message will be sent to all your contacts saying ‘ALARM CANCELLED’.

This will let everyone know that the wearer of the device is okay, and the alarm being triggered was an accident.

Triggering the fall detector

The fall detector on your elderly emergency alarm will detect a sudden drop, and this will automatically trigger the alarm.

The sensitivity of the fall detector can be turned up or down depending on the needs of the individual wearer.

This means that if the fall detector is being activated too easily, we can turn down the sensitivity so that the alarm is only triggered when the wearer has actually had a fall.

Or if you feel that the device is not triggering when the device falls, then we can also turn up the sensitivity of the device.

If the device is being used by a security team, a 24/7 gym owner, or an individual who doesn’t need inbuilt fall detection, then the fall detection can be disabled completely.

This will allow the person wearing the alarm to run, jump, exercise, or move rapidly around without triggering the alarm.
